Changelog

Novidades no lovd.

Novos recursos, melhorias e correções. Lançamos uma pequena atualização quase todos os dias.

New

Introducing the changelog

Lovd now has a public changelog: the page you're reading right now. We ship small improvements every day, and from today you can follow along here.

You'll also find a What's new entry in your account menu inside the app, so you can catch up on recent updates without leaving your photos.

Birthday party hats for avatar celebrations

Happy 31st Birthday to me! On each person and Lovd Ones birthday, now get a festive party hat on their avatar throughout the app. It's a small celebration that appears on their profile, in family tree connections, in guest lists, and everywhere else their avatar shows up.

Improved

Richer photo previews everywhere

Hovering a photo on the calendar, the map, or in the gallery now shows the same rich preview as the timeline: a framed picture with its date and the people in it. And on the map, zooming with your scroll wheel keeps working even while a preview is open.

A friendlier error page

If you ever wander onto a missing page or something goes wrong, you'll now be greeted by a warm little page (a misplaced polaroid) with clear buttons to get you back to your photos, instead of a plain technical error.

New

Meet the Curator plan

There's a new plan for growing photo collections: Curator gives you 5GB of storage for just €1/month (or €8/year). It sits right between the free plan and Archivist, perfect for when the free plan starts feeling snug. See all plans on the pricing page.

Add descriptions while you upload

You can now write a description for a photo right in the upload screen, alongside the date and location. Tell the story behind a picture the moment you add it, with no need to come back and edit it afterwards.

In-app tours now follow your account

The little guided tours around the app now remember what you've already seen on your account, not just on one device. Switch phones or clear your browser and you won't be shown the same tips all over again.

New

Richer app splash screen

Your Lovd app now greets you with a more delightful boot screen: a hand-drawn wordmark, animated hearts, and texture give the loading moment more personality while helpful tips keep you entertained.

Connect with us on Instagram

You'll now find a link to our Instagram (@lovdsupport) in the footer, so you can follow along for product updates and see how families are using Lovd.

Improved

Stronger invite security

We fixed an edge case where someone could claim an invite multiple times, and made invite acceptance more explicit to prevent accidental joins on shared devices. Your invitations are now safer and more reliable.

Secure logout on shared devices

When you log out of Lovd on a shared device, everything stored on that device is now fully cleared so the next person to use the app won't accidentally see any of your photos or private data.

Smoother collection loading

Collections now load with a smoother experience. Your collection list appears immediately without the flash of empty sections, making the app feel snappier.

Improved

The app now fixes itself when an update goes wrong

If an update ever leaves the app stuck in a reload loop, Lovd now notices, cleans up the broken state, and gets you back to a working app on its own. No more clearing your browser data by hand.

Improved

Theme change notifications

When you change your app theme from light to dark or vice versa, you now get a confirmation notification. If something goes wrong, you'll see an error message.

New

Merging your Lovd One placeholder into a real account now works via shareable links that require no email. You can bundle a collection invite and relationships into a single link, making it easy to onboard family members. A unified "Invite to Lovd" panel handles both email and link-based invites.

Edit relationships in the family graph

On the People page, you can now click the connection line between two people in the graph and select "Edit relationship" to change the relationship type without deleting and recreating it. Changes take effect immediately.

Family graph layouts persist

When you manually arrange people in the family graph on the People page, your layout is now saved in your browser. The arrangement stays the same across page reloads and collection switches, so you can organize the tree the way you like it. A "Reset layout" button restores the automatic layout anytime.

New

Mark photos as collection covers

You can now mark any photo in a post as the collection's cover image by clicking the star button. The selected cover floats to the top and appears as the representative image in collection cards across the app. All views automatically stay in sync.

Timeline performance improved on low-end devices

The timeline now adapts to your device. Lower-end phones and tablets get a lighter version that reduces stuttering and battery drain while keeping everything smooth and responsive.

Improved

Timeline layout improvements eliminate jitter

The timeline no longer shimmers or jitters as you pan and zoom: photos now keep stable positions. They still arrange intelligently to avoid overlaps, and you can control photo size independently of zoom level. Prominent photos render as thumbnails while dense periods show as small dots.

Improved

Posts with four or more photos now display as a compact 2x2 collage grid in your calendar day cells and gallery views. This makes browsing multi-photo moments faster and more visual.

Enhanced calendar navigation

Calendar navigation is now faster and more intuitive. A "Today" button jumps to the current date, year navigation buttons let you jump forward and backward by full years, and month and year selectors are clearer. The month and year view toggles now use icon tabs for quicker switching.

New

Birthdays highlighted in calendar

Birthdays from your family members now appear as highlighted day cells in the calendar, colored by their relationship to you. Filter by people to focus on specific birthdays.

New

People page redesign with graph and grid views

The People page now shows a toggle between graph view (your family tree with controls for zoom, layout, and spacing) and grid view (a masonry card layout). The graph lets you arrange nodes by hand and zoom, with connection controls to filter relationships. Cards surface contact info, photo counts, and quick actions in a cleaner layout.

Each post in your home feed now displays a group of related people at the top: the photo's creator, any tagged attendees from an event, and any family members or loved ones tagged in the photo. Hover over avatars to see profiles.

New

Demo playground and product tour

New users now get a seeded demo collection with sample photos and people to explore on sign-up. A guided product tour walks you through the app's key features. You can always hide the demo collections once you start adding your own photos.

Improved

Archived collections now hidden everywhere

When you archive a collection, its photos and posts now disappear from all views (home feed, search, map, timeline, calendar, and gallery). This gives you cleaner aggregate views while keeping your archived content safe. Photos that live in multiple collections still appear if at least one collection is active.

New

Collection cover images

Collections now have cover images that appear at the top of the collection card and in collection browsing. You can set, update, and remove covers from your collections to personalize how they look.

New

Mention and tag anyone on Lovd

You can now use @mentions in post descriptions, just like in comments: start typing @ and pick who you mean. And when tagging people in photos, you can search across the whole Lovd platform by handle, not just your collection members.

Create posts from context menus

Right-click on a photo to create a new post with that image already selected. You can also use the map context menu to set a post's location by coordinates, and access media-location info when creating or editing posts.

Filter photos by taken or uploaded date

When filtering by date, you can now choose whether to show photos by when they were taken or when they were uploaded to Lovd, giving you more control over organizing and finding memories.

Fixed

Theme setting persists on account page

Your light or dark theme preference now stays selected on the account settings page when you switch between other settings, and changes apply instantly.

Improved

Right-click menus in your feed

Your home feed now supports right-click menus, so you can quickly select, add to collections, tag people, or delete posts without navigating to the full view.

New

Faster and more responsive calendar

The calendar is now much faster, especially when navigating between years. We replaced the underlying calendar engine with a custom build that is lighter and more responsive, giving you smooth navigation and quick month switching.

Multiple birthdays per day and smart right-click menus

The calendar now handles multiple birthdays on the same day. Right-click menus are now context-aware across the app, letting you quickly access options for people, photos, events, and locations wherever you see them.
