Today Lovd. officially launches. Here's what we're building and how we intend to run it.

Your memories are not a product

Most photo and social platforms make their money in one of three ways: selling your data, showing you ads, or locking you into a subscription that creeps up every year. We're not doing any of those.

We will never sell your data, train AI on your photos, or show you advertising. That isn't a setting you have to find. It's how the business works.

European and private by design

Lovd is registered in Amsterdam. We follow European privacy law because we think it's the right way to handle something as personal as your family photos, not because a compliance checklist says so.

You own your memories and you decide who sees them. When you delete something, it's gone.

You only pay for storage

Every plan, including the free one, gets unlimited collections, notes and events. Nothing is locked behind a paywall; you pay only when you need more space.

Explorer: free, with room for about 1,000 photos.
Curator: about 10,000 photos for €1/month or €8/year.
Archivist: about 100,000 photos for €3/month or €30/year.

Everyone can join in for free

This is the part I'm proudest of. On a paid plan you can invite anyone to add to your collections, even if they're on the free Explorer plan. Their uploads count against your storage, not theirs.

So your grandma doesn't need a subscription to add photos to the family album, and the friend from that trip doesn't need to pay to share their pictures. One person pays and everyone gets to take part.

What's next

Trip explorer: follow an adventure across a map, along a timeline, or as a slideshow.
Video: family videos, clips of your dog, and that wedding toast nobody expected.
Auto-tagging: tagging suggestions that don't compromise your privacy.
