Export or delete your data
You have the right to a copy of your data and the right to have it deleted (GDPR and similar laws call these "data portability" and the "right to be forgotten"). You can do both yourself, from Account settings → Data.
Export your data
Open Data settings
Go to Account settings → Data (/account/data).
Request the export
Select Request export in the Request data export row. Lovd packages your export while you wait (large accounts can take a few minutes) and emails you when it's ready.
Download the ZIP
When the export is ready, select Download.

Delete your account
Deleting your account removes your photos, profile and account data. If you only want to get rid of a few photos or a collection, delete those directly instead; that happens straight away.
Open Data settings
Go to Account settings → Data and scroll to Delete account.
Schedule deletion
Select Schedule account deletion, type DELETE to confirm, then select Schedule deletion.
Here's what happens next:
- A 7-day grace period starts. Nothing is removed yet, and you can cancel any time from your . We email you straight away, in case it wasn't you.
- After 7 days, your photos, profile and account are permanently deleted, and any active subscription is cancelled at that moment, with no refund for the time already paid for. You can no longer log in.
- You're removed from every collection you belonged to, and collections you owned are deleted. Photos you added to other people's collections are deleted too.
- Backup and CDN copies are purged within 90 days (see section 6 of the Privacy Policy).
Deleting your account vs cancelling your plan

What we may keep
For legal reasons, a few records outlive your account:
- Payment records, kept for tax purposes (Polar, our payment processor, has its own retention policy).
- Records of illegal-content reports, and any data tied to ongoing legal proceedings.
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics that can't identify you.
Prefer email?
For an export or a deletion, you can also email privacy@lovd.app with your account email and what you'd like done. We reply within 30 days, as GDPR requires.
