Your Right to Your Data

Under GDPR Article 20 and other privacy laws, you have the right to receive a copy of all data we hold about you. This is called "data portability."

How to Export Your Data

1. Go to Account Settings → Data
2. Click Request Data Export
3. Wait for the export to be prepared
4. Click Download when ready

What's Included

Your export is a ZIP file containing:

data/ folder

• profile.json - Your account profile information
• collections.json - All collections you created
• posts.json - Posts (events, albums, notes) you created
• assets.json - Metadata for all photos you uploaded
• people.json - Lovd Ones you created
• relationships.json - Relationships you defined
• invitations.json - Invitations sent and received
• subscription.json - Your subscription information
• activity_summary.json - Summary statistics
• complete_export.json - All data in a single file

assets/ folder

• manifest.json - List of all asset files
• Your uploaded photos in original quality

profile/ folder

• Your profile picture
• Profile pictures for Lovd Ones

Export Format

Your data is provided as:

• Photos in their original format (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, etc.)
• Metadata in machine-readable JSON format
• Everything packaged in a ZIP file

Download Time Limits

Export download links are available for 7 days after preparation. After that, you'll need to request a new export.

Large Accounts

For accounts with many photos:

• Exports are processed in the background
• You'll see a progress indicator while processing
• You can leave the page and return later - the export will continue
• For very large accounts (1000+ photos), the export may include only the first 1000 photos. Contact support@lovd.app if you need a complete export.

Tips

Before Leaving Lovd

If you're planning to delete your account:

1. Request and download your export first
2. Verify you have all your photos
3. Then delete your account

Regular Backups

We recommend periodically exporting your data as a backup, even if you're staying with Lovd. We do our best to protect your data, but having your own backup is always smart.

Alternative: Email Request

You can also email privacy@lovd.app to request your data. We'll respond within 30 days as required by GDPR.
