Storage Management
Monitor and manage your storage usage.
Understanding Storage
Your storage limit depends on your subscription plan:
| Plan | Storage |
|---|---|
| Free | 500 MB |
| Personal | 50 GB |
| Family | 100 GB (shared) |
Viewing Storage Usage
- Go to Account > Subscription > Storage
- See your current usage
The storage page shows:
- Total space used
- Space remaining
- Percentage used
- Number of photos
What Counts Toward Storage
Storage is calculated based on photos in collections you own:
- Your uploads to your collections count
- Others' uploads to your collections count
- Your uploads to others' collections don't count against you
Example
- You upload 1 GB to your collection → Uses your storage
- Friend uploads 500 MB to your collection → Uses your storage
- You upload 2 GB to friend's collection → Uses friend's storage
Family Plan Storage
On a Family plan, storage is pooled:
- All family members share 100 GB
- Anyone's uploads count toward the shared total
- The owner sees total usage
- Individual member usage isn't broken down
Freeing Up Storage
If you're running low on storage:
Delete Photos You Don't Need
- Go to a collection
- Select unwanted photos
- Delete them
Deleted photos are removed immediately.
Remove Duplicate Photos
Look for photos that exist in multiple collections unnecessarily.
Upgrade Your Plan
If you need more space:
- Go to Account > Subscription
- Choose a larger plan
- Storage increases immediately
Storage Warnings
We'll notify you when:
- You reach 80% of your limit
- You reach 90% of your limit
- You're at capacity
What Happens at Capacity
When you hit your storage limit:
- You cannot upload new photos
- Existing photos remain accessible
- You can still view, share, and organize
- Delete photos or upgrade to upload again
Tips for Managing Storage
- Upload selectively - Don't upload every photo, choose the best ones
- Review periodically - Delete blurry or duplicate photos
- Consider quality - Very high resolution photos use more space
- Check shared collections - Others' uploads to your collections use your storage
