Profile settings
Your profile is how other people see you on Lovd: your name, handle and profile picture, plus an optional birthday and birthplace.
To open it, select your profile picture (top right) and choose Account settings → Profile, or go straight to . Edit whatever you like, then select Save changes at the top of the page to apply everything at once.
Profile picture
Select Choose photo, pick an image, then Save changes.
- Any common image format works (JPEG, PNG, WebP and more). We turn it into a square avatar for you.
- The file can be up to 5 MB.
- A square image of at least 200×200 pixels looks best.
To remove your picture without replacing it, email support@lovd.app.
Handle (@username)
Your handle is your unique username, shown as @yourhandle. It needs to:
- Be 3–30 characters long
- Start with a letter
- Use only letters, numbers and underscores
- Not be taken already
Type a new handle in the Handle field and Lovd checks it as you type. A green tick means it's free; otherwise a message tells you what to fix. Select Save changes to apply it.
Name
Your first and last name appear on your profile, in collection member lists, in activity, and when someone tags you in a photo. Your real name or a nickname both work.
Birthday and birthplace
Both are optional.
- Birthday: pick a date from the calendar.
- Birthplace: start typing a place and choose it from the search results.
Email address
We use your email for logging in, account recovery, the notifications you've turned on, and billing receipts on paid plans.
Changing your email
Open the change dialog
Select Change email beside your email address.
Enter your new address
Type the new address and select Send confirmation.
Confirm the change
We email a confirmation link. Follow it to finish.
Until you confirm, nothing changes: keep logging in with your current email.
Who can see what
- Your profile picture and name are visible to people you share collections with.
- Your handle is visible when people search for you.
- Your email is only ever visible to you.
