Your photos deserve more than a folder.

We take more photos than ever, probably thousands a year. They get backed up to the cloud, maybe sorted into an album or two, and then nothing. A perfectly organised archive that nobody opens.

That's not a scrapbook. It's a filing cabinet.

More than storage, less than social

Cloud storage solves "don't lose my stuff" and stops there. Your photos are safe, synced and completely lifeless.

Social media goes the other way and throws your moments into a feed built for strangers. Your kid's first steps end up next to an ad for car insurance, flattened into content.

Digital scrapbooking sits between the two: your memories arranged, explored and shared with the people who were there. Think of a paper scrapbook. It isn't a stack of photos; it has context. A ticket stub, a note about the restaurant, photos grouped by trip with the details you'd otherwise forget.

That's what we're building with Lovd. Photos on a timeline, pinned to a map, grouped into events, alongside notes, recipes, playlists or whatever else matters to you. Then you share it with the people who were there, and together you end up with something richer than any of you would make alone.

Why the map matters

Upload photos with location data and they appear as pins on a map. Suddenly you can see the shape of a holiday, the neighbourhood you explored, the route you drove.

That triggers memories in a way a grid never does. "Oh right, that café was just round the corner from the museum." "I forgot we stopped at that beach on the way back."

Coming soon: Story Playback

Story Playback lets you watch a collection unfold on the map over time. Press play and the map follows your journey, panning and zooming along your timeline and showing the photos at each stop.

Picture your road trip through Portugal: the map traces the route from Lisbon down to the Algarve, with your photos appearing as you go. Or a weekend in a new city, replaying exactly how you wandered its streets.

Part slideshow, part journey, part time machine. Your memories happened across time and place, so that's how you should be able to explore them.

We'll share more as it gets closer.

Give it a try

Your memories deserve better than a folder called "IMG_2024". If you've been looking for somewhere to organise, explore and share them with the people who matter, . And if you're already here, keep an eye on the map. There's more coming.
