Making a Post
What's a Post?
A post is a single memory in lovd - like "Beach Holiday", "Mum's Birthday", or "First Day of School". Each post can have photos, a title, a date, and a description.
Posts come in three types:
Album
A collection of photos. Perfect for holidays, events, or everyday moments.
Event
Mark a special occasion like a wedding, birthday, graduation, or holiday.
Note
Save a recipe, journal entry, workout log, or other text-based memory.
How to Create a Post
Creating a post takes 4 simple steps:
Step 1: Choose the type
Pick what kind of post you're making.
Albums are best for photos. Events mark special occasions (you can pick from weddings, birthdays, holidays, and more). Notes are for text-based content like recipes or journal entries.
Step 2: Add your photos
Select photos from your phone or computer. You can:
- Tap to select multiple photos at once
- Drag and drop from your files
- Pick photos you've already uploaded to lovd
The app will automatically read the date and location from your photos if available.
Step 3: Add the details
Give your post a title, and optionally:
- Description - Add context or tell the story
- Date - When did this happen? (Auto-filled from your photos)
- Location - Where was it? (Auto-filled if your photos have location data)
Step 4: Choose collections
Pick which collections this post belongs to. You can select multiple - for example, add "Christmas Dinner" to both "Family" and "2024 Holidays".
You can also skip this step and add the post to collections later.
Tap Create and you're done!

After Creating Your Post
Your post is now saved in lovd. You can:
- View it in any collection you added it to
- Edit it anytime to change the title, description, or photos
- Add it to more collections if you want to share it with other groups
- Remove it from collections without deleting the original
