Creating Your First Collection
A collection is a private space for sharing photos with a specific group of people. Learn more about collections.
Start With the Sample Collections
When you first sign in, your account already has a few sample collections to look around — a populated feed, timeline, map, and gallery so you can see how lovd works before adding anything of your own. They carry a Sample badge so you always know they aren't your photos.
- Explore freely: open the samples to try the different views and see what a full collection looks like.
- They clear themselves: the samples disappear automatically the moment you add your own first collection, photo, or post. You can also hide them sooner from the These are sample collections banner.
- Take the tour: a short, skippable product tour points out the basics. You can replay it anytime with Take the tour in the user menu (top-right).
How to Create a Collection
Open Collections
Find Collections in the main menu. New accounts start with the sample collections described above; your own collections appear in the same list once you create them. Use the new collection button to add one.
Start a new collection
Open the collection creator from your collections list.
Name it and pick an icon
Enter a name ("Family", "Uni Friends", "Spain 2024") and choose an icon from the picker next to it. Keep the name simple.
Set a theme (optional)
Choose a colour and corner style for the collection, or leave the defaults.
Tap Create
Your collection is ready and automatically selected.
