Getting started

Creating Your First Collection

Set up a collection to start sharing photos with the people you choose.

A collection is a private space for sharing photos with a specific group of people. Learn more about collections.

You can create as many collections as you need. Most people start with one or two and add more over time.

Start With the Sample Collections

When you first sign in, your account already has a few sample collections to look around — a populated feed, timeline, map, and gallery so you can see how lovd works before adding anything of your own. They carry a Sample badge so you always know they aren't your photos.

  • Explore freely: open the samples to try the different views and see what a full collection looks like.
  • They clear themselves: the samples disappear automatically the moment you add your own first collection, photo, or post. You can also hide them sooner from the These are sample collections banner.
  • Take the tour: a short, skippable product tour points out the basics. You can replay it anytime with Take the tour in the user menu (top-right).

How to Create a Collection

Open Collections

Find Collections in the main menu. New accounts start with the sample collections described above; your own collections appear in the same list once you create them. Use the new collection button to add one.

Start a new collection

Open the collection creator from your collections list.

Name it and pick an icon

Enter a name ("Family", "Uni Friends", "Spain 2024") and choose an icon from the picker next to it. Keep the name simple.

Set a theme (optional)

Choose a colour and corner style for the collection, or leave the defaults.

Tap Create

Your collection is ready and automatically selected.

Collection Ideas

  • "Family": add parents, kids, and siblings.
  • "Year Holidays": one collection per year's trips.
  • "Kids": share photos with grandparents and relatives.
  • "Just Us": a private space for you and your partner.
  • "Event Name": for a wedding, party, or reunion; invite the guests so everyone can add their photos.

Good to Know

Posts can live in multiple collections. A Christmas photo can sit in both "Family" and "2024 Holidays"; just add it to both.

Collections are private by default. No one can see your photos until you invite them.

Don't let your best memories disappear into your camera roll. Give them a home.
