Creating your first collection
A collection is a private space for sharing photos with a particular group of people. Nobody sees it until you invite them. Learn more about collections.
Getting your bearings
A new account starts empty: everything you see in Lovd is yours, or shared with you by someone you know.
- Take the tour: a short, skippable welcome tour points out where to add your own photos and posts. Replay it anytime from Help → Take the tour in the user menu (top right).
- Follow the checklist: the Get started card in your collections grid tracks 3 tasks (add your first photos, create a collection, invite someone to share it with) and ticks each one off as you go. Dismiss it once you're set.
How to create a collection
Open Collections
Go to Collections in the main menu, where your own collections and the ones shared with you sit together, then select New collection.
Name it and pick an icon
Enter a name ("Family", "Uni Friends", "Spain 2024") and choose an icon from the picker beside it.
Set a theme (optional)
Under Theme settings, pick the collection's highlight and background colours, or keep the defaults.
Select Create
Your collection is ready, and it's selected so you can start adding to it straight away.
You can make as many collections as you like. Most people start with one or two and add more over time.
Collection ideas
- "Family": parents, kids and siblings.
- "Kids": photos for grandparents and relatives.
- "Just Us": a private space for you and your partner.
- "2024 Holidays": one collection per year of trips.
- A wedding, party or reunion: invite the guests so everyone can add their photos.
