Cancelling Your Subscription

How to cancel your subscription and what happens to your data.

How to Cancel

  1. Go to Account > Subscription > Billing
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Confirm your cancellation

Your subscription will be marked as "Cancelling."

What Happens After Cancellation

Immediate Effects

  • Your subscription won't renew
  • You keep full access until your billing period ends
  • No refund for remaining time

At Period End

When your current period expires:

  • You revert to the Free plan (500 MB)
  • Your collections remain intact
  • Your photos remain accessible
  • You cannot upload if over 500 MB

Read-Only Access Period

For every subscription period you've paid for, you earn an equal amount of read-only access time. This means:

  • 1 month subscription = +1 month of read-only access
  • 1 year subscription = +1 year of read-only access
  • If you subscribed for 2 years total, you get 2 years of read-only access after your subscription ends

During read-only access:

  • You can view all your photos and collections
  • You can download your content
  • You cannot upload new photos
  • Your memories stay safe and accessible

You can see your accrued read-only time in Account > Subscription > Billing.

If You're Over the Free Limit

If your storage exceeds 500 MB after cancellation:

  1. You can still view and download all photos
  2. You cannot upload new photos
  3. You'll need to delete content or resubscribe to upload again

We never delete your photos automatically. Take your time deciding what to keep.

Reactivating Your Subscription

Changed your mind? You can resubscribe anytime.

Before Period Ends

If your subscription is cancelling but still active:

  1. Go to Account > Subscription > Billing
  2. Click Resubscribe
  3. Your subscription continues as normal

After Period Ends

If your subscription has fully expired:

  1. Go to Account > Subscription
  2. Choose a plan
  3. Complete checkout
  4. Your access is restored instantly

Family Plan Cancellation

If you cancel a Family plan:

  • All family members lose their upgraded access
  • Everyone reverts to Free plans
  • All photos and collections remain
  • Family members may need to manage their own storage

Consider warning family members before cancelling.

Data After Cancellation

We don't delete your data when you cancel:

  • Collections: Remain exactly as they were
  • Photos: Stay in your account
  • Shared access: People you invited can still view (if your collections are under the limit)

Grace Period

After cancellation, we provide a grace period:

  • 30 days after expiration: Full functionality continues
  • 6 months inactive: We'll email a warning
  • 7 months inactive: Content may be archived
