Sharing and permissions
Collections are private by default: only you can see them until you invite someone. When you share, you choose who gets in (by email or with a link) and what they can do (their role).
How to share a collection
Open the Sharing tab
In the collection's Settings, go to the Sharing tab. You can also jump straight there by choosing Sharing from the ⋮ menu on the collection's card.
Invite by email or create a link
Enter someone's email address, or create a shareable link to send yourself.
Choose their role
Pick Can view, Can add memories or Can edit. Only the owner can invite people or change their role.
Send it
Email invites arrive with a link to join. Anyone without a Lovd account is asked to create one, and it's free.
The four roles
Everyone in a collection has exactly one role. The app describes roles by what they let you do, so here's how the names match up:
- Owner created the collection and has full control, including managing people. There's one per collection.
- Editor (Can edit) can upload, organise, and remove anyone's photos from the collection.
- Contributor (Can add memories) can add their own photos, but can't reorganise or remove anyone else's.
- Viewer (Can view) can look, like, comment and download, but can't add or change anything. The shareable link panel calls this View only.

Posts and photos can only be edited or deleted by the person who added them, whatever their role.
Managing access
Only the owner can change who's in a collection. Everyone else sees the list of people but can't change it.
See who has access: everyone is listed on the Sharing tab. Invites that haven't been accepted yet sit at the top under Waiting to connect.
Change a role: select the person's current role on their card and pick a new one. It takes effect straight away.
Remove someone: select their role and choose Remove. They lose access straight away. Photos they uploaded stay in the collection unless you remove them too.
Invites
Waiting to connect: people have to accept an invite before they can see anything. Email invites expire after 7 days. If one runs out, Cancel it under Waiting to connect and send a new one.
Invited to someone else's collection? If you already have a Lovd account, the link in the invite email opens your collections on the Pending filter. Select Accept invite on the collection's card to join, or the ✕ beside it to decline. You can also answer from Notifications in the user menu.
Invite not arriving? Ask them to check their spam or junk folder and search their inbox for "Lovd", and double-check you used the right email address.
Storage and sharing
Each file can be up to 50 MB on every plan. Storage is 500 MB on Explorer, 5 GB on Curator (€1/month or €8/year) and 50 GB on Archivist (€3/month or €30/year). See Subscription and billing for details.
